Safety when you're out and aboutWhen you are out and about you are probably carrying a great deal of valuable property about your person - your mobile phone, your iPod, your PDA, your laptop and even your expensive bag and waterproof jacket.
While you are distracted you become more vulnerable to becoming a victim of street crime. In order to reduce the risk then be alert at all times. Don't walk whilst talking on your mobile phone. If you must use it in the street then stop where there are people around, perhaps near a shop. Turn to face people rather than have your back to them. Use a hands free set where possible so that you don't have to hold your mobile in your hand, where it can easily be snatched.
